To start a project with Barbara Hölschen, is a real joy. Because, it always begins with an entirely clean sheet which is soon filled with the ideas already swirling around in our heads, but stays open for brand new approaches. The courage to think freely, without losing sight of the aims of those concerned, distinguishes Barbara’s work. After the successful cooperation during the planning, realization and continued development of the adidas brand exhibition, Barbara and I are getting ready for upcoming new challenges.
In 2009, we had developed the first ideas with Barbara as to how the historical collection of adidas was to gain more momentum within the company. From this quite a few exiting projects arose in the recent years. And now, yet another joint project lies ahead. We may not give away too much, but it is about the activation and profiling of a touristic destination, in which the present cannot exist without the past, and a location where the fascination for both nature and architecture is equally grand. We plan to attract many partners and to create win-win situations for the future with the current setup. With Barbara on our side, we are well equipped for this challenge.
From the Archaeological Museum »Colombischlössle" in Freiburg, via the corporate archive of Pfizer Germany GmbH through to the department of History Management at adidas AG – As I was able to observe over a long period of time, Barbara Hölschen has been able to manage an impressive variety of different requirements and tasks with scientific precision, professional care and inspiring ideas. Whatever the challenge, the advice of “STARTPHASE” will undoubtedly have great effect, due to Barbara’s experience, her knowledge about the ‘magic of the beginning’, and her great empathy. Many years ago, I met Barbara, as a cultural scientist who likes to be passionate about exciting projects, when others have already ceased to think about them. She has continued to develop professionally in recent years and she is a constant source of delight with her open and exciting way to communicate. Despite Barbara's bubbly imagination and creativity she stands with both feet firmly on the ground. Moreover, she has the important ability to think and act entrepreneurially. Cost consciousness and time management are not unfamiliar to her and she likes to take responsibility for large and small projects. I met Barbara Hölschen about seven years ago now. At that time, her vision was an Adidas Museum, which was to show the corporate's history. Right from the start, it was clear to Barbara that the variety of interesting and exciting portfolio holdings depot contents, photos and archived documents were not only exciting to Adidas insiders; this historic stock had to go public. For this cause, she applied herself with great enthusiasm and utmost professionalism. She managed to combine different interests and projects and to motivate those involved with a pleasant and positive atmosphere. The results speak for themselves. Already, I envy those who have decided to start a new project with Barbara. Keep it up, Barbara! I wish you much success!
In 2011 Barbara came and introduced an incredibly exciting project to our North Kingdom team. She had a vision of bringing the great adidas heritage to life with a huge virtual adidas archive. This was a massive undertaking and it was so exciting to work alongside Barbara in bringing this to life. This project took years and would probably still be in the making if it had not been for Barbara´s creativity, reliability, trust and support in our relationship over the long project period. It was a lot of fun, and in the end we launched a fantastic digital experience and platform, and Barbara was the key to making all of this come true.
